Fourth Green Flag for School!

On 9th Januray 2014 Brentwood County High School was inspected by a representative from ENCAMS, the organisation which runs the Eco-School programme. After a rigorous application process and inspection the school has been awarded its fourth Green Flag. This makes  the school one of 23 schools and one of just only three secondary schools in Essex to hold the prestigious award. There are only a handful of secondary schools across the UK which have been awarded the Green Flag four times.

The inspector commented:

"Well done Brentwood County High School! The school is clearly embracing the Eco-Schools programme. It appears to be woven in to the school as part of their culture, from using pre-owned furniture wherever possible, to managing energy, to providing healthy, varied meals in the school restaurant, to giving pupils every opportunity to have a say in environmental issues affecting the school. I am particularly grateful to Dan, Harry, Lewis and Tom from the Eco-Team who, together with Mr Davies, were my guides for my tour of the school. They are clearly knowledgeable and enthusiastic representatives for Eco-Schools. I also appreciate Mr Davies’ help and can see that he is a great motivator and facilitator for the school as far as Eco-Schools is concerned. Please keep up the hard work!"
