Why study Computing in the Sixth Form?

Some people think that Computing is just the same as ICT. However it has very little to do with it.  It's far more creative, more innovative, more challenging.   You should study Computing if you are interested in Programming, Networks, Logic, Algorithms, Computers in Society, Software Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction.   It is an excellent foundation for anyone who intends to work specifically in computing or with computers.   The course is examined through a combination of practical tests and examinations and you will be given plenty of opportunities to create your own programmes.

Where can Computing take me in the future?

The opportunities for a career based in the computing world are ever changing and expanding.  There are a wide number of job opportunities available including computer programmer /developer, software engineer, network manager, systems analyst, database administrator and web designer.

What do the students say?

“It’s fun, exciting and is becoming increasingly useful in the world of today”.
