1) How do I apply for my child to come to Brentwood County High School?
Year 6 to Year 7
As part of the Year 6 to Year 7 transfer you need to apply via Essex County Council. Applications will need to be submitted by 31st October, in the first term of Year 6 at primary school. Your borough council will contact you directly with the information and documents relevant to this process.
If you are a late applicant you still need to apply directly with Essex Admissions, unless you live outside the area in which case please see the information below.

2) How do I apply for my child to come to Brentwood County High School if I live outside the area?
Year 6 to Year 7
If you are applying for a Year 7 place at Brentwood County High School from another authority, please follow the instructions below:
- In the school search page change the name of the Local Authority (LA) to Essex LA.
- Change the distance radius to 'any distance' so the search is limited to a specific area.
- Enter the word Brentwood into the search box and select Brentwood County High School.

3) Who makes the decisions on who to admit to Brentwood County High School for September admissions to Year 7?
As an academy school, BCHS is legally its own admissions authority. However, as with most academies, we are part of the Essex Local Authority admissions process. Essex County Council manages our admissions as part of the central Essex system in line with our published admissions criteria for each year.
Essex Key Dates To Remember:
10th September 2021
Online application facility opens (apply online at www.essex.gov.uk/admissions)
31st October 2021
Statutory national closing date for all applications, including online. The online application system will be closed after this date.
1st November 2021 onwards
LA to consider all applications received after the closing date.
1st March 2022
National offer date. LA will notify Essex resident parents of the outcome to their application.
March-end of August 2022
LA maintains waiting lists for all schools and fills any places that become available.

Unfortunately, we do not have a school bus running to the Havering area but you can still get to us using the public bus number 498 or 608. Alternatively you can travel by train (Brentwood train station is within walking distance of the school).

Uniform orders can be collected from our school reception at the following times:
Monday to Friday 3.20pm - 3.45pm
There is also an onsite shop at the school selling limited uniform, including ties, aprons, PE socks and swim hats. A wide variety of items are available at very reasonable prices (from £2-£6). In addition, there are water bottles (£1 each) and house mugs (£3 each) for sale.
Please note that we will be only taking card payments at this current time.
