Admissions Criteria

01.07.201326Entry Requirements for the Sixth form at Brentwood County High School

We offer a range of qualifications at level 3. We offer a huge variety of A-levels for students who would like to continue their studies on a traditionally academic pathway. A-levels are designed to provide a broad educational basis for further education or for moving into employment. We also offer BTECs at Level 3, BTECs are designed to accommodate the needs of employers whilst still allowing progression to university. They provide a more practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a key theoretical background.

In order to gain entry to our sixth form you need to achieve 5 grade 4-9s (this can include English and/or Maths at level 4 or above).

If you wish, you can choose a combination of A Level and BTECs from the option blocks as long as you meet the individual subject criteria.

Any student who has not achieved a grade 4 at GCSE Maths and/or English will be expected to continue these as part of their study.

In exceptional circumstances, and as a result of advice and guidance in discussion with the Head of Sixth Form, a student may be allowed to undertake a course where they may have just missed the entry requirement or just missed a grade. All entries under this condition are at the personal discretion and judgment of the Headteacher.
