Year 8 students visit Olympic Park

Half of year 8 students travelled to the Olympic Park in Stratford to visit and find out about the Velodrome, Copper Box, Olympic Stadium and the Aquatic Centre.

The guides were very informative showing images of before, during and after the Olympics.  They explained how the legacy is not just about inspiring a generation to e active in sports, but how a whole new community of jobs, schools and homes are being developed in the areas.

The students enjoyed seeing the different cycling tracks as this may be something that they may choose to study further for their GCSEs.

Mr Callender, Head of School said “This learning opportunity saw Brentwood County High pupils deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Olympic Legacy and the impact sport can have to improve and promote healthy lifestyles.”
