Our prefects are a key part of our process for ensuring the smooth and effective managment of the school.
Prefects are senior students who have successfully applied and been chosen to fulfil this role. All Year 10s are able to apply to be prefects. They have to complete an application form with a covering letter explaining why they want to be a prefect. They then have an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team at which they have the opportunity to show that they are responsible, mature and have shown sufficiently strong commitment to their school in their first four years at BCHS. Successul applicants are then awarded the status of prefect until the end of Year 11.
Prefects carry out duties once a week where they supervise areas of the school. In addition they commit to take part in at least one evening or weekend activity each term such as a parents' evening or Friends of BCHS event.
