Students with English as an Additional Language experience a temporary barrier to learning. With effective intervention and support EAL students can become advanced bilingual learners within 3 years of first learning English. To ensure that students with EAL are able to overcome the language barrier and achieve their potential we provide support to our EAL learners, including lesson support, 1 to 1 language support sessions and literacy programmes. We also work closely with external agencies to ensure that the needs of bilingual parents can be met, through the use of speaking translators or through the production of school information in other languages when needed.
