Why study Economics in the Sixth Form

Economics is a subject highly regarded by both University and Industry due to its academic rigour and its relevance to our society, country and world.  It is firmly based as a subject and taught by reference to the world in which we live and in particular the UK Economy.

Economics prepares students for many varied career paths both in Academia and Industry.  Due to its relevance it is accepted as an excellent foundation for careers in Finance, Insurance, Banking, Trading or more generally in professions such as Accountancy, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Business Operations.

What will you study?

During the AS and A2 course, you will study how markets operate and reasons for market failure.  You will also study the national and international economy.
