Why study ICT in the Sixth Form?

BTEC Nationals at Level 3 provide a solid foundation of knowledge, understanding and skills that are needed to prepare target driven and focused individuals for future studies or employment.  This course is spread over 2 years and on successful completion you will be able to review and progress onto further education or enter employment in a multitude of ICT subject areas.   The course is assessed via your portfolio of work – there are no exams.

This course is the equivalent of 3 A2 level passes.

You will study a range of topics:

You will cover Communication and Employability skills for IT and Computer Systems plus Information Systems, Database Design, Impact of the use of IT on Business Systems, Developing Computer Games, Managing Networks, Website Production, IT Technical Support, Digital Graphics, Event Driven Programming and Computer Animation.

Where can ICT take me in the future?

By successfully completing this BTEC you will be able to progress onto further education or pursue a career in the many fields of  ICT.  These include systems, web developer/designer, systems engineer and technical support consultant or software developer.
