Snow Day

Just wanted to thank X for the decision to call a Snow Day today. The joy and happiness that has brought to X was lovely to see when I told him and he's gone running out in it with his Dad and sister.

Snow creates such special childhood memories and it's never with us for long before it melts so good that they can enjoy it today. A much needed happiness in these difficult times.

Well done BCHS school - what a wonderful thing to do.  Definitely a good decision.

That’s lovely, thank you. A happy X is already having fun outside in the snow!

Just wanted to say X said thank you. You've made her day. How lovely the kids may have some fun in the snow today.

X was so happy.  Thank you.

Just wanted to say thank you for making this decision. My teens have barely left the house this lockdown but the snow has got them outside in the fresh air. So good for their mental health. There's nothing like a snow day to lift spirits. So thank you again.

 Thank you!!!!!

Giving the kids a day to enjoy a day in the snow just being children perfect way to boost mental health well done BCHS.

Good call BCHS

Just want to say a HUGE thank you. It has been an absolutely awesome morning with the kids just playing in the snowing!! It has really cheered my kids up, they were all laughing and chatting as soon as they heard they were having a Snow Day today and no school!!! Felt it bit like the old normal before the pandemic, which was really nice.

Remote Learning

Just want to send our appreciation of how BCHS has supported our children during the past year, this lockdown hasn't been as bad as we expected with regards to schooling, they both have been able to keep a routine, this is down to all the staff being online for every lesson. So huge Thank you to you all.

The initial support for my child on entry to BCHS has been fantastic. BCHS performs very well pastorally and this is also apparent with the current remote provision.

BCHS has been amazing. X has been so well looked after and has been able to reach his full potential because of the kindness and dedication of all members of staff. I am so impressed with how he has been treated during his time at the school and I regularly sing your praises. A huge thank you to all members of staff.

I am very impressed with the level of dedication all the teachers are giving on home learning considering this pandemic and am glad he is still learning and is happy.

SENCO team are fantastic and really nice people.

I'd like to say A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the teachers and staff! They are really doing a brilliant job, well done!  I can imagine that it is not easy but they have kept the spirit going and have been putting in a lot of effort to engage with and encourage the learners. I must say, I've been enjoying listening to some of the lessons! The kids love Cahoot!. Take care, hope you all get some well deserved rest over half term.

Thank you to all the staff for your efforts in these very testing times. I believe you are all hero’s along with the NHS, and Police Officers. Every morning X wakes up with a purpose to get up and attend online learning to achieve the results for her chosen career. Have a safe half term to you all.

I believe the teachers are doing an amazing job in these really challenging times, please thank them all for their continued support with X, in a really important year for all year 11’s.

Hope I find you well I felt I had to email to say how well your staff has done keeping the kids educated. I know it must be a massive task.  My son X is in year 13 and working towards uni.  He hasn’t been stressed at all and feels he has done enough work so again thank you to all your staff for your dedication.

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff at BCHS for the support and online learning you have been offering the pupils during this difficult time.  We have been so impressed with all that has been put into place and how reassuring and kind the staff have all been. We have just had a very successful Parents evening. Not only is X doing really well in all her subjects but it ran smoothly and it was nice to see and talk to her teachers. So once again please pass on our thanks to everyone involved as I know how much of a challenging time it is also for you as teachers as well as our children! But we wanted you to know that we think you are all doing a fantastic job!!

 Many thanks and stay safe.

Hi, hope you are well, sorry but I won't be able to make the meeting on Wednesday. If it helpful the live lessons this time around are fantastic although my son did really well last time it is much better having someone who knows the subject and is there to answer questions. (Year 7 Parent)

Can I just say well done to all of you thought this difficult time the school has been amazing getting everything organised. Take care. (Year 7 Parent)

Anyway, in that spirit, I wanted to let you know that I think the offer from BCHS this week has been fantastic. My son has been at school with me, accessing Teams from a laptop in my office. Therefore, I’ve heard a lot of his lesson content and it’s been nice to put faces to names for each of his teachers. Although he’s found online learning pretty tough, the lessons have been great, and I think the teachers have done a fantastic job of moving their teaching online! I have been particularly impressed with the Spanish, EP, History and Science lessons. (Year 7 Parent)

Thank you to you and your staff for all your hard work during another period of unsettled and strange times for education. (Year 7 Parent)

Hi, I hope you are well.  I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you to the school for all you have done during the closures.  I am really pleased with the level of communications and the live zoom lessons have been amazing.  It has made life a lot easier, especially when I have a primary school aged daughter to home school and I also work from home. (Year 7 Parent)

I know other schools in the area have not been great, so really pleased we chose BCHS for my son - he seems to be getting on really well. (Year 7 Parent)

Good Morning, Happy New Year and I hope you are keeping well.  Not quite the start to the new year you were expecting, but I would like to congratulate you and the staff on the online classes that you are running (I am also learning as my son shares the same room as me while I work from home). (Year 8 Parent)

Good morning hope you and your family are all keeping safe and well. I just wanted to say how fantastic the live online lessons are that my son is receiving and to pass on my thanks to all staff for their efforts during this difficult and challenging time. The lessons are engaging and sometimes humorous and is certainly helping my son remain focused with learning. My son is a shy child and the way the lesson is given enables him to feel comfortable and involved. He sometimes emails teachers and they always reply quickly and positively if he has any concerns or questions.  As a parent I just wanted to pass on my thanks to staff for their commitment and efforts which are very much appreciated and valued.  Take care and looking forward to better days ahead. (Year 8 Parent)

Good morning, I just wanted to say how fantastic the school and teachers have been with delivering the zoom lessons. It has made my life so much easier being able to get on home schooling my youngest knowing X is in capable hands with her teachers. X is so less stressed than last year which is great. Even more so now X has been allocated a laptop. Can I ask do these get returned when she returns to school or when there’s going to be no more home learning?  Thank you for delivering a brilliant home learning programme. (Year 9 Parent)

Both my children are getting on well, teachers doing live lessons is brilliant, so they are on hand if they get stuck.  I don’t then have to worry that they will ask me for help.

Safeguarding

"Safeguarding Lead has been such a tremendous help to my son. Over the past few months, he has suffered quite badly with mental health. She has shown great support to both my son and I through this time, constantly keeping in touch to talk and creating a structure for him at school. He really relies on someone to trust to talk too and this has been instrumental in his recovery. I would like to say a big thank you to the Safeguarding Lead for this continued help." (Year 10 parent)

So, I just wanted to thank everyone!” (Year 7 & and 10 parent)

“.is coping well with the "Online Learning". I ensure he logs on at 9am every weekday and he completes the work set. He has submitted work and had feedback from teachers. They also respond promptly if he has emailed any questions or concerns.  I would just like to thank all the staff at BCHS for working hard to make this work for., it is a difficult and uncertain time for all of us but especially our children. Also, with his GCSE's coming up next year it is nice to know he is still focused on his learning. So please, on our behalf, thank everybody at BCHS.
